"I AM AN ARTIST" SERIES

When SAGE Studio opened in 2017, Rick Fleming was our first and only artist. The "I am an artist" project started with Rick's amazing portrait of the artist Bob Ross. When we asked Rick if he had anything to say about the drawing he simply stated "I am an artist" and penned it beneath the curly coiffed legend of PBS. These four words have become a guiding principle for how we view and represent the individuals we work with–first and foremost, as working artists. The project is ongoing, with six portraits in the series to date: Bob Ross, Frida Kahlo, Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Yayoi Kusama and most recently Keith Haring.
