"The Bird Is Having a Good Day Because It's with Leaves 45" by King Godwin
Acrylic on canvas | 8" x 8"
King Godwin (b. 1991) was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, and diagnosed with autism when he was two-and-a-half years old. Godwin became a painter in 2013. In addition to his parents, Thomas (jazz drummer) and Yuko Taylor (fine art painter), and brother, Malik Nobumasa Godwin (antique clocksmith), he has many other supporters of his painting career. Godwin currently lives independently in an apartment attached to parents’ home.
During this pandemic, Godwin goes to his mother’s home art studio, conveniently located over the two-car garage, every day. He misses working in his own studio—Moondog Fine Art Studio–where he paints with others. He is a proud team member of the Special Olympic Raleigh Racer Swimmers, a performing member of Special Japanese Taiko-Drum ensemble, and a member of Reality Ministries in Durham, NC.
