Enkh-Amar Shagdarguntev (b. 1970) has developed a style of clear line drawings done in graphite with one or two-toned colored pencil backdrops. He applies his clean geometric drawing style to boats, architecture and figurative portrayals of people. Shagdarguntev has been working on a series of boats, floating amidst calm blue seas. These vessels take on the specialized look of folded origami, with their sharp geometric edges and flattened approach to space. Shagdarguntev’s architectural renderings hold special attention to detail with arrays of linear shapes that assemble to create articulate window shutters and the tilework of a pitched roof.
Shagdarguntev works at Creativity Explored in San Francisco, California.
